Bill in Olympia Being Called "I-297 Revisited" - NBC Right Now/KNDO/KNDU Tri-Cities, Yakima, WA |

RICHLAND, Wash.- A bill in the state legislature that would stop nuclear waste shipments into Washington is losing support in Olympia.

A House committee heard the bill Tuesday, but the State Senate canceled their meetings on it.

The bill is similar to Initiative 297, which was overturned in federal court in 2006.

Many key supporters of I-297 are against the proposed bill.
