UPDATE: Victim In Fatal Car Crash On Indian Canyon Drive Identified

Spokane County Medical Examiner Press Release: 

SPOKANE COUNTY, March 12, 2013 – The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identity and cause and manner of death of the individual who died in the vehicular accident on March 8, 2013 on Indian Canyon Drive Spokane, WA.

The man has been identified as 27-year-old Peter N. Berg. The cause of death is listed as "basilar skull fractures; d/t blunt impact to head." The manner of death has been ruled an accident. 

Berg's passenger has not been identified, but she was conscious and speaking to law enforcement over the weekend.

SPOKANE, Wash. - One person is dead after their car left the road and went down an embankment and hit at least one tree. It happened in the area of S. Indian Canyon Dr. and W. Greenwood Rd. Those roads are closed right now and will remain so for at least four more hours.

An extrication team was called out just before 10:00pm Friday night. When crews arrived on scene a female passenger was trapped in the car, and the male driver was not responsive. That male driver has died. The female has multiple injuries as well.

Teams will be called out to reconstruct the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
