YAKIMA, Wash.-- Car salesmen often get a bad rap, but NBC Right Now has proof that there are some honest ones in Yakima.
It's a situation most of us only dream of, but for a salesman at Stewart Subaru, the dream turned to reality when he found more than $10,000 stuffed in a bag, in the back of a pickup truck the dealership just recently bought.
Paul Anderson has worked at Stewart Subaru for only about nine months. He says he was moving one of their used cars when he made the discovery.
Luckily for the rightful owner, Paul is an honest car salesman. He immediately told his manager who contacted the seller and got the money back where it belongs.
"You never know. It could be for medical expenses. That kind of money can really change someone's life if they're missing it. So, I knew it had to go to the right owner," Anderson said.
Hiss manager says the family who sold them the truck was going through some rough times, so the money was likely going to really help them.
Anderson says he was happy to do the right thing and would definitely do it again.
