SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Gonzaga women's rivalry with Saint Mary's takes center stage in Spokane Thursday night, and the Zags know they have to be careful with this one.

Gonzaga is riding an eight-game win streak but now face the only team that has beaten them in the WCC this year. A win means the Zags get revenge if not a little separation in the standings.

"It's a big rivalry with them, so it would be nice to go two games up in conference on BYU," said guard Taelor Karr. "And then we would be in the driver's seat – not just for the rivalry but for the conference in the big picture too."

"I expect this to be a real battle," said coach Kelly Graves. "Saint Mary's is good, I mean really good. They're strong, they're physical, and obviously, they beat us at their place. It was a game where we could have won; we had opportunities to late and we just didn't make the plays, and they did."

Tonight's game against the Gaels will be shown live on SWX, with tipoff shortly after 6 p.m.
