Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- A car crash in Yakima this morning sent a police officer and another driver to the hospital.

It happened at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Custer Avenue around 10:30 this morning.

Police say an officer was driving down Lincoln when another car pulled out in front of her.

The officer crashed into the car, knocking it into a front yard.

The officer's car continued down the street for about 100 yards.

The driver in the other car was traveling with three children.

They all escaped without injuries.

"Driver was a little shooken up, he mighta got something hurt on him. The kids were freaking out, but I don't believe they got hurt," said Witness Jason Rozier.

Initially, police weren't sure where the accident happened because the injured officer was only able to tell dispatchers one of the streets before she stopped talking.

They blocked off Lincoln Avenue for several hours.

We're still waiting to learn the officer's name and get an update on her condition.
