HERMISTON, Ore. - A Hermiston man is now serving a 10-day sentence in the Umatilla County Jail for pleading guilty to driving under the influence of intoxicants and attempting to elude police.
Oregon State Police say 52-year-old James Wayne Ball reached speeds of 130 mph when he zoomed past a trooper on U.S. Highway 730 near Hermiston on April 21, 2012, and led the officer on a six-minute chase
Ball then crashed his motorcycle while driving 111 mph during the chase.
Ball suffered serious injuries in the crash.
