KENNEWICK, Wash. -- NBC Right Now continues to follow the future of Vista Field.
Tonight, the Port of Kennewick gave people the chance to voice their thoughts to its consultant, without port commissioners present.
The consultant recently released a draft study proposing alternatives to either expand, redevelop, or take no action.
The port commissioners opted not to attend tonight and to wait until all public comments are factored into the consultant's final analysis.
"It's been some good feed back from people who are advocating to keep the airport open as well as people who have some thoughts about closing and redeveloping. I'm seeing some passion on both sides of the alternatives," said Port of Kennewick's Tana Bader Inglima.
The consultant will roll all the public comments into a final document, then port commissioners will then decide whether to take Vista Field's future to the voters or decide among themselves.
People have until February 11th to weigh in on what the future of Vista Field should be.
