PASCO, Wash. - Franklin County Commissioners held a public hearing Wednesday and were met with a packed house.
The hearing was meant to review a petition from the group 'Citizens for Lifestyle Preservation' that would allow them to vote on creating their own city, tentatively called Riverview.
A number of Doughnut Hole residents spoke out at the public hearing.
"There's a lot of people out here that live here for a reason and don't want to lose the rights that we have. So while this lawsuit is still in litigation, I don't see how you can make any kind of a decision today," Judy Dunbar said.
The commissioners agreed. Brad Peck told the group that the commissioners job is 'not to make a decision but to follow the law.'
A special meeting is now set for February 4th.
