WCC Names Kelly Olynyk Player of the Week

SPOKANE, Wash. -

Gonzaga big man Kelly Olynyk is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Olynyk was instrumental in Gonzaga's three wins last week. He averaged 23.3 points per game against Oklahoma State, Pepperdine and Santa Clara. He scored 21 against the Cowboys, 16 against Pepperdine and a career-high 33 against Santa Clara on Saturday.

His rebounding numbers were equally impressive, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game.

Also nominated for the weekly award was Matt Carlino (BYU), Stacy Davis (Pepperdine) and Cody Doolin (San Francisco).

Gonzaga's next game is Thursday at home against Saint Mary's. The game, at 8 p.m. (PT), will be on ESPN2.
