ASTORIA, Ore. - A Facebook post from an Astoria man leads to a hit and run arrest.
Astoria Police say they responded to a hit and run accident on 1884 5th Street. Officers say a driver had sideswiped another car and had done significant damage. A second vehicle parked in front of the car had damage as well.
Police say they then received reports that 18-year-old Jacob Cox-Brown had posted "Drivin drunk... classsic ;) but to whoever's vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P" on his public Facebook page.
Officers then went to Cox-Brown's house and matched pieces left behind at the scene of the crash to the vehicle registered to Cox-Brown.
Police arrested Cox-Brown and charged him with two counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver.
