WALLA WALLA, Wash. - A man from Walla Walla is facing felony assault charges after police say he stabbed his wife.
Walla Walla Police say 28-year-old Alberto Luna Martinez stabbed his 42-year-old wife through her arm and into her chest, puncturing a lung during a fight.
On Thursday night, officers went to the couple's apartment at 20 W. Walnut, but they didn't answer the door. About an hour later, police got a call from Walla Walla General Hospital, where they found the man and wife.
Police arrested Martinez for an outstanding warrant and booked him into the Walla Walla County Jail. Officers arrested him Friday morning for the assault on his wife at his court appearance for the earlier warrant.
Police haven't released the woman's name, so we aren't able to check on her condition.
