KENNEWICK, Wash. - A couple is in the hospital after two pit bulls attacked them Sunday night in Kennewick.
Benton County Sheriff's Deputies say the dogs attacked them near their home on the 1000 blk of S. Gum Street around 8PM. They say the couple was severely hurt but the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
When medics were helping the victims, the dogs returned and attacked a deputy. The deputy shot both of the dogs in defense.
Both dogs were hit and ran to a nearby home where deputies believe they lived. The deputy followed both dogs and put them down because they remained aggressive and could not be secured.
Deputies say the dog's owner could be facing charges. The incident is still under investigation.
