Police Arrest Hermiston Woman After Car Chase Near Pendleton

PENDLETON, Wash. - Oregon State Police said they were involved in a car chase with a Hermiston woman Thursday afternoon.

Troopers say 26-year-old Amelia Cortez was leaving the Pendleton area in a stolen car with two young children she did not have custody of.

Officers followed her down I-84 to Stanfield at South Edwards and Feedville Road. The chase ended after Cortez ran over spike strips placed by police.

Cortez faces felony eluding charges and three previous unrelated warrants.
