3 Still Hospitalized From Falling Trees on US 2

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. - Two adult siblings and the son-in-law of the couple killed on U.S. Highway 2 on Friday near Leavenworth remain at Harborview Medical Center Tuesday, all in serious but stable condition.

They were passengers in the Chevrolet Suburban driven by Bothell resident Timothy Owen. Owen and Cheryl Janine Reed were killed when their vehicle was crushed by a falling tree.

Jessica Owen, Jaime Owen Mayer and her husband, Steven Mayer, were taken to Haborview from Central Washington Hospital. Their son, Jeremy Owen, was treated and released from Central Washington Hospital.

The accident was the first of two on US 2 that left two dead and nine injured. Officials closed the pass on Saturday and was reopened Tuesday afternoon.
