KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Retailers say Saturday is the busiest shopping day of the year.
Black Friday often gets the most attention, but the Saturday before Christmas is called Super Saturday for a reason.
Columbia Center Mall was busy Saturday with people scrambling to buy last minute gifts.
Black Friday can bring in higher foot traffic to stores, but Super Saturday brings in the highest sales of the year.
"Most people come out for Black Friday do a lot of shopping for themselves. A lot of 50% off days and so while they start their Christmas shopping, this weekend is, you truly have to buy for everybody who you haven't bought for yet," said Barbara Johnson, General Manager of Columbia Center Mall.
The mall had a number of record breaking sales for stores over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's anticipated those numbers will translate into high Super Saturday sales.
