RICHLAND, Wash. - The City of Richland has snatched up 13 acres of undeveloped land at the base of Little Badger Mountain.
A local developer donated the land as the city continues to complete the Ridgeline Trail connection to the Amon Basin Preserve.
The Richland Parks and Recreation Department says as opportunities arise the city will acquire additional land on Badger Mountain to keep as open space.
Tomorrow evening Friends of Badger Mountain plans a winter solstice walk up the mountain.
The hike starts at sunset, 4:14 p.m..
