RICHLAND, Wash. - Workers from all 14 of the Unions represented on the Hanford site team up with several local businesses to make Christmas better for over 100 local foster children.
The Union Members raised about $15,000 to buy gifts and delivered them to the DSHS Foster Care Building in Richland on Wednesday.
"You hear about how bad the economy is but you look around here and you see that people still take the time to open their hearts and help out. Especially the young kids who are put into a bad situation at best and we just try to make the best for them," said Bruce Gradisher, a member of Iron Workers Local 14.
Union workers are still donating cash that will be used to buy diapers and formula for the youngest foster children.
