Benton City Stand-off Ends After 6 Hours

BENTON CITY, Wash. -- Benton County Sheriff's deputies say a stand off on Frazier Road in Benton City has ended after 6 hours.

Officers say 27-year-old Michael Tapia Yniguez was not being cooperative and eventually, officers obtained a search warrant and went into the home to arrest him.

Yniguez was arrested on 5 outstanding warrants and is also the suspect in a burglary on Arrowhead early Monday morning. Franklin County also had a warrant for his arrest. Deputies believe Yniguez is the suspect in 2 burglaries in Franklin County and Pasco. 

Yniguez was booked into the Benton County Jail. Deputies say Yniguez may also be charged in Franklin County with burglary.
