Taylor Bridge Fire Investigation Complete

Cle Elum, WASH.--The State Department of Natural Resources said they know what caused the massive Taylor Bridge wild fire.

The DNR investigation found that the devastating blaze was human caused, started by sparks from a construction site on the bridge at the intersection of Highway 10 and Taylor Road.

DNR said they'll now work with the attorney general's office to recoup their losses.

The fire cost $11 million in damages, and DNRis responsible for half of that.

"Obviously the entities involved is one potential, but we'll determine that after we sit down with the Attorney General's Office," said Bryan Flint, the Director of Communications for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

The investigation revealed that Conway Construction and Ranier Steel should not have been using power saws or welding after 1 p.m. that day because of the high fire danger.

More than 60 people are already part of a lawsuit against the two construction companies.
