Soldier gets homecoming welcome at Tri-Cities Airport

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.-- A local soldier is home just in time for the holidays. NBC Right Now caught up with U.S. Army Specialist Megan Weis after she flew into the Pasco airport this morning.

Weis recently completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

She was greeted by her parents and the ACES group, which welcomes home troops to show support for their service.

"I think it's amazing that people are willing to go out and meet people they've never met before to support them and what they're doing, especially in the armed services.">

A marine returning home from bootcamp also happened to be on her flight. The marine was greeted with a warm welcome by the ACES group and family, as well.
