Tri-City Americans Help in Kettle Drive

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Players from the Tri-City Americans hockey team helped accept donations for the Salvation Army's annual Kettle Drive today.

They were at three Walmart locations in Pasco, Richland and Kennewick ringing bells for charity this morning.  The players say it's about giving back to the community during the holiday season.

"There's nothing else we rather do than be here, collecting donations for a good cause to help give people a better Christmas,"said Tri-City Americans Hockey Player Jesse Mychan.

The Salvation Army says kettle donations are used for food, clothes and gifts for families in need.

The Americans annual Teddy Bear Toss is Thursday night at the Toyota Center. All the toy donations go to local charities.
