CHICAGO, IL. - The year of 2012 has the highest gas prices this year according to GasBuddy.

They said the yearly national average is running at $3.63/gallon for 2012 and there is no doubt by the end of this year we will see the highest average in gas prices.

Petroleum analysts for GasBuddy said the increase in the prices is due to supply problems in the East Coast because of Hurricane Sandy.

The hurricane caused major flood damage and power outages all across the northeast.
