Red Cross inviting all to make "Holiday Cards for Heroes"

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- The Benton-Franklin chapter of the Red Cross wants your help to brighten someone's day this holiday season.

The "Holiday Cards for Heroes" project is a way for people to send personalized greeting cards to members of the armed forces, both overseas and for veterans at home.

The Red Cross will hold the first of two card making parties this Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4 P.M.; everyone is invited to stop by and make some cards!

"This is a way that we can help facilitate the community to say thanks to our men and women in uniform as well as those who have already served their country," says Jeanne Jelke, the Executive Director of the Benton-Franklin Chapter of the Red Cross.

The first card making party is Saturday (December 1st) from 1 to 4 P.M. at the Red Cross offices at 7202 W. Deschutes Avenue in Kennewick.
