KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Thanksgiving shopping weekend boded well for Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick retailers say there were higher sales than last year.
Many stores of them actually reported record sales this year with multiple places earning top sales for the region.
One hundred stores in the mall opened at midnight this year for Black Friday. Only twenty stores opened that early last year.
"Our midnight opening was big for our retailers, as well as throughout the weekend we had our Black Friday shoppers and then we had our daily weekend shoppers that come in from over 100 miles away and we are their shopping destination. They got those doorbuster deals as well," Patricia Bardin, Columbia Center Mall spokesperson.
With such high numbers for the Thanksgiving weekend, the mall is anticipating a busy month as shoppers prepare for Christmas.
