Jody Sears worked this year as Weber State's interim head coach (Weber State Athletics)
Former Washington State and Eastern Washington defensive coordinator Jody Sears was officially named the new head coach at Weber State on Wednesday.
Sears, who was a defensive coordinator under Paul Wulff at WSU before being hired at Weber State this year, was serving as the interim coach after the departure of John L. Smith. Smith left the program before coaching a single game to take Bobby Petrino's job at Arkansas.
The Wildcats went 2-9 under Sears this season, including 2-6 in the Big Sky.
Sears named former Arizona Cardinals quarterback – and Washington State alum - Tim Rosenbach his offensive coordinator. He worked as offensive coordinator at Montana this season.
