Benton County Justice Center Receives Bomb Threat

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick, WASH.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office says the Benton County Justice Center received a bomb threat over the phone Thursday afternoon.

The caller is described as a man, 40 to 50 years old with a southern accent. He said there were several bombs throughout the building and they would explode within 20 minutes. The center was evacuated and after a search, nothing was found.

This is one out of five courthouses throughout the state that received bomb threats Thursday. Investigators say they believe they could be connected and the incident is still under investigation.
