MOSCOW, Idaho -

The Idaho Vandals are looking to pull out of a late season nosedive that cost Robb Akey his job and has been anything but kind to interim head coach Jason Gesser.

Since beating New Mexico State on October 6, Idaho has lost four straight games by an average of 35 points. Even so, Gesser doesn't see any quit in his team. They host UT San Antonio this weekend.

"The guys fought hard and I told them I was very, very proud of them – the way they've handled this situation, how they fought together out there and stayed together throughout the game, the week and everything we've been through," said Gesser, speaking about last week's loss.

He doesn't have on the rose colored glasses. Gesser understands there are still a lot of things that need to be improved.

"There are some things we need to continue to clean up discipline-wise and getting things going," he said. "But that's a process and we all know that."
