SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -
The Mead Panthers returned to the practice field Tuesday, but not in Mead where field conditions were simply not acceptable.
Instead, the Panthers went indoors and worked out on the carpet at the Spokane Shock practice facility in Spokane Valley.
Mead is coming off a convincing 41-14 4A playoff win over Newport. It was a win that demonstrated just how good this year's Panthers can be.
"We had a bunch of people just tell us that we couldn't do it and that Newport was just going to kill us," said senior linebacker Bo Hare. "We just came out with fire lit under butts."
"We pretty much want to send a message to state that we're in the tournament this year, and we're to play a lot."
Mead plays at Auburn on Saturday at 3 p.m. If they win, they could face a familiar foe next week: Gonzaga Prep. Prep is hosting Bellarmine Prep – also on Saturday on SWX.
