SPOKANE, Wash. A judge Thursday will sentence a police officer convicted of excessive force. Federal prosecutors want Karl Thompson to spend ten years in prison. Thompson's lawyers will ask the 40-year police veteran receive no prison time.

Otto Zehm died six years ago at the hands of Spokane police. A federal jury convicted Thompson of using excessive force and then lying to investigators. Thompson is the only officer convicted in the case.
