PILOT ROCK, Ore. - The gym at a high school in eastern Oregon is closed until the school deals with severe damages to the gym's roof supports.
The superintendent of Pilot Rock schools said several wooden trusses were damaged, and one is broken through. He said repairs could range from fixing just the broken truss to replacing the roof of the gym.
The school has hired an engineer who is set to report on the damage by the end of the week.
Until the gym is fixed, the gym will stay closed. Pilot Rock basketball teams will play their home games at Pendleton High School, 15 miles north, and practice at nearby gyms. The high school's gym classes have been moved to the junior high school.
