YAKIMA, Wash.-- Volunteers around our region are looking for donations this week for Operation Christmas Child.
People can donate shoeboxes full of toys, school supplies, and hygiene products that will be sent all over the world to children in need.
The program has been around for 20 years and organizers hope to collect thousands of boxes from around our area.
"And when you see the blessing that this is to these little kids, it's just very heartwarming... That's what it's all about," said Yakima County Coordinator Richard Wonner.
If you don't have time to make a shoebox and deliver it in person, you can create one on the organization's website.
The final deadline for drop offs is November 19th.
You can find a map with all the collection centers in the Tri-Cities and Yakima area on the group's website, here.
