SEATTLE - A woman accused of bilking an elderly woman out of more than $1 million now faces murder charges.

King County prosecutors say Brenda Nicholas and two others killed Navy veteran Francis Patrick Fleming last December in his apartment at a senior housing complex after robbing him of his coin collection. Fleming was 70.

Prosecutors say Fleming and Nicholas met through an 85-year-old woman. Prosecutors say Nicholas manipulated the woman out of her life savings over a two-year period while posing as a palm reader.
