KENNEWICK, Wash.- With the cold, rainy forecast, this may be the perfect weekend to sit by the fire with a good book.
The Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries this weekend holds its semi-annual book sale. Hundreds of like-new hardcover books are on sale, some for as little as one dollar. Books for younger readers can be purchased for 25 cents.
Ruth Dupuis, president of friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries, says money raised from the sale goes to funding programs at the libraries. "We have a huge children's program and the library can sponsor that, but they can't sponsor prizes."
The book sale goes until 6 p.m. Friday and continues 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Kennewick Branch on Union Street.
