WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Students from Walla Walla Valley Academy in College Place spent most of the day helping out in their community.
"Service is one of our core compounds of our curriculum. Today is impact day and our student body is spread across the valley doing service projects, both big and small from picking up trash to working with the Humane Society, they're all serving today," said Brian Harris, Principal at WW Valley Academy.
Close to 200 kids pitched in at various places including a cemetery, several parks and a museum.
They raked leaves, pulled weeds and collected food for food banks.
And at the humane society they walked dogs and petted cats.
The Academy is a Christian high school run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in College Place.
