Stolen property open house

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Benton County Sherrif's Department held a stolen property open house for more than 250 items.

The Sheriff's Office held the open house to try and find the owners of items that were stolen from cars in Finley, Kennewick, and Pasco earlier this year.

One woman was recently able to get a motorcycle helmet back.

It belonged to her husband who died and she was able to use it in a memorial service for him.

"It's an enjoyable process because when you're able to match a victim of a crime, especially a victim of theft and give their property back it's a good thing because a lot of times it has a sentimental value as well as something that has monetary value," said Deputy Joe Lusignan with the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

To claim an item call the Benton County Sheriff's Office. Any items that aren't claimed will be put up for auction online.
