PASCO, Wash. - Pasco and Chiawana high school students had an open house for their latest student-built home today.
The Team Pasco Home is a home building program that lets students learn hands-on about design and construction by working along side experts.
A broker from River Realty says its a really great way to teach students in a different way.
"If kids are looking for a way to really enjoy school and meet other people and be interactive this is a great way to do it. It's just like team sports or anything else it's kind of a community within the school," said Carrie Lundgren, broker at River Realty.
Lundgren says around 30 students helped this year.
This particular home will sell for around $223,000.00.
The 16-year-old program also helps students by providing scholarship opportunities to further their career options. Students can get started by speaking with their school counselor.
