PASCO, Wash.- Attorneys
are racing a deadline for an upcoming murder trial.
Tashia Stuart is scheduled
to go on trial in February. Before then, defense experts need to pour over
dozens of pieces of evidence currently at the state crime lab.
Defense attorneys say
prosecutors will have to deliver the items to their experts because state
scientists don't permit outside experts to use equipment at the lab.
Stuart is accused of
murdering her adoptive mother in 2011. Stuart claims she shot Judy Hebert in
self-defense.
