KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Twelve senior citizens were honored this morning at the 7th Annual Lighthouse Awards in Kennewick.
Each year, several seniors are honored for their volunteer work in the community. Seniors were nominated in four categories: Wisdom of Age, Picture of Health, Shining Light and Philanthropy. This is the 7th year Hawthorne Court has participated in the awards.
"It really inspires people to pay their volunteerism forward," says Malaura Bricker, the General Manager at Hawthorne Court. "If they did not previously volunteer, maybe attending this event or being nominated, will encourage someone to go out and positively impact somebody else's life!"
The Leisure Care Lighthouse Awards are handed out in more than 50 cities nationwide and nominations have already begun for next year!
