RICHLAND, Wash. - The general election is only 32 days away and two big changes are being made.
The first change is a new ballot drop box location in Pasco. It's located at Fire District Three Station at Road 84 and Court Street.
Franklin County Auditor Matt Beaton says the fifth ballot box will definitely come in handy because this will be the first time postage for mail in ballots in Franklin County will not be paid for by the county.
The second change is that that it now costs 65 cents to mail in your ballot. Beaton says Franklin was the last county in Washington that did pay for the postage, but says they've eliminated it for processing purposes because ballots must be post marked by election day.
Ballots will start being mailed out by October 16th.
