YAKIMA, Wash. -- Washington's two candidates for governor went head to head at a debate in Yakima tonight.
The debate was held at the Yakima Convention Center and is the only one scheduled in Central Washington.
Republican candidate Rob McKenna and Democrat Jay Inslee had 30 seconds to answer each question. They discussed a handful of different topics including gang prevention, the economy, and jobs.
"It's the businesses of the state, the small companies, especially that will being us back from high unemployment. We need to make it easier for them, more affordable for them to grow their companies and have more people," McKenna believes.
"We need a play that is specifically focused and tailored to what we do so well in the state of Washington. We have a secret sauce in this state. And that is the power of innovation. We create, we invent, we build," says Inslee.
This was the third time the two men faced off in a debate. The general election is coming up in just over a month on November 6th.
