CWU football moves on without Fogerson

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Central Washington University confirmed the dismissal of running back Johri Fogerson from the football team. Monday Fogerson pleaded not guilty to a third degree assault charge.

Over the weekend the Wildcats still won convincingly over Humboldt State University, 31-3. Demetrius Sumler ran 27 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Head coach Blaine Bennett said he does not want to wear down Sumler with his larger role.

"I'm a big believer in keeping your running backs fresh. Saturday we kept them fresh with a little more five-wide receiver sets. We need to get Jordan Todd, out true freshman, more reps. I think he had four or five carries on Saturday. He needs to get up to that 12 to 15 carries," Bennett said.
