Yakima, WASH.--One of the most popular sights at the Central Washington State Fair this year was catching a glimpse of some of the most rare and dangerous animals in the world.
A Walk On The Wild Side is an animal rescue shelter in Canby, Oregon, and they take care of over 100 exotic animals.
They brought some of the most endangered species to this year's fair, including a Barbary Lion Cub and a Black Leopard.
"These animals are so endangered," said Steve Higgs, the Executive Director of Walk on the Wild Side. "If something isn't done, if people don't step up to help with this cause, they will not be around not only for themselves, but also for their kids."
Higgs said there are only 2,000 Barbary Lions left in the world.
A Walk on the Wild Side is coordinating with other international breeding programs to keep the species going.
