YAKIMA, Wash.-- The man accused of killing Gary Snell Junior during a drug deal in 2010 has pleaded guilty to second degree murder.
Yakima County prosecutors say, Sebastian Looney shot and killed Snell, then hid the body under his grandmother's front porch in Terrace Heights.
The plea deal comes after a mistrial in June when jurors were not able find him guilty of first degree premeditated murder.
The victim's father says the deal is disappointing.
"Well, I'm kind of numb. There shouldn't have been an option given to the guy, but you know, I guess it's our system. It's not set up to help the victim," said Gary Snell, Sr.
Prosecutor Ken Ramm says both sides have agreed on 205 months in jail, that's about 17 years. But the judge is not bound by that recommendation and could sentence Looney to anywhere from about 15 to 23 years behind bars.
