KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Police officers, firefighters and other public officials from around the region participated in the 10th annual 9/11 Memorial Run this morning.
The 6.5 mile run began at the Kennewick Police Department and finished at Kamiakin High School.
Runners were treated to a pancake breakfast prepared by the Kamiakin LINK crew, a national leadership group made up of juniors and seniors.
"We've been planning for a few days now and it's really great to have everyone come in and see the police officers and be able to really serve them and appreciate what they do in the community," says Tori Roberts, a senior in the LINK crew. "Because they do a lot!"
"Our unity run is all about running together and remembering all of the good people that lost their lives, the police officers, the firefighters, but the everyday citizens that were just going to work or people that just happened to be touring/vacationing in New York city," says Chief Ken Hohenberg of the Kennewick Police Department.
This was the 6th year for the pancake breakfast at Kamiakin High School.
