KENNEWICK, Wash., -- A man accused of charging 375 gym members an "enhancement fee" and then shutting the gym down began his trial this morning in Benton County Superior Court.

Jason Sleater was the owner of 509 Fitness before closing its doors in March.

The "enhancement fee" charges were discovered by the gym's creditor just one day after closing.

Jury selection began Tuesday morning with opening statements set to begin Wednesday morning.

Sleater is charged with 1st degree theft.
