Illia Dunes recreation area re-opens

Walla Walla, WASH.--The Illia Dunes recreation area on the Lower Snake River officially re-opened Sunday.

The recreation area was shut down about a week ago for health and safety concerns.

With the help of volunteers, the Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was able to get the place cleaned up.

Staff said they will now monitor visitors actions to limit garbage and disorderly conduct.
