RICHLAND, Wash. -- The Richland Bombers football team has just six more days to prepare for their season opener against the Southridge Suns.
After starting last season 3-0, the Bombers finished just 6-5 and lost to Davis in a 4A Big Nine tiebreaker. The bombers will start at minimum 15 seniors this season, and they feel that experience will help get them into the playoffs.
"It's always nice to have seniors. It's great because our seniors are experienced and coaches will take that hands down anytime. So we're fortunate enough to have a senior dominated team. We have great senior leadership and that filters down to our young guys," said Mike Neidhold, Richland head coach.
"It's kind of like an advantage because they know the situations and in big games they have to make big plays and it's kind of an advantage over younger teams," said Zach Whitby, junior quarterback.
