Gov. Gregoire directs flags lowered to half-staff

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Gov. Chris Gregoire directed that flags at all Washington state agency buildings be lowered to half-staff tomorrow, August 3rd, in memory of Department of Natural Resources diver David Scheinost. Scheinost died July 24th on the job while diving in the waters near Bainbridge Island to sample for paralytic shellfish poisoning.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Friday. A funeral ceremony for Scheinost will be held on Sunday, August 5th.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
