Union Gap, WASH.--Union Gap City Council will hold a meeting Monday night to address several important topics, including the issue of hiring a City Clerk.
Council members will vote Monday whether or not to change the City Clerk's job description.
The position has been vacant since early July. The previous City Clerk chose not to return after taking a family medical leave.
City Administrator Chris Jensen said the job will keep some of the old responsibilities while adding some new ones.
"Whenever we have a vacancy that occurs, especially in a management position it's always a good idea to look at the job description and determine whether or nor it's still accurate to the needs and demands of that position," said Jensen.
Some of the City Clerk's new responsibilities will be managing computer software and having more oversight over staff within community programs.
Jensen said they are looking to fill the position by September 1st.
