East Valley, WASH.- - A woman missing in East Valley has just been found.
A spokesman for the Yakima County Sheriff's Office says 50 year old Norma Gordon was located one mile east of Postma Road at about 4:20. She was found in some brush and transported to an area hospital. Search and Rescue say they found her dehydrated and confused, but in good condition.
She was last seen with a small dog Monday afternoon around 1:30. Gordon suffers from dementia so search and rescue crews were worried she may not have been aware of her surroundings.
Neighbors said young boys reported seeing Gordon wandering down Postma Road. She was carrying a blanket and her small black Chihuahua.
Search and rescue said that it was a tough search due to Gordon's mental health issues.
"She's known to us because of her mental health condition, but not as far as we've had to go out and search for her," said Sergeant George Town with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. "Yes, she'll wander around in the local area but not turn up missing."
Monday night Yakima Search and Rescue patrolled the area and sent out canine dogs. Today, they were looking into tips from people that claimed to have seen her and touching base with family members.
